How to backup your Firefox with MozBackup

In this tutorial you will learn how to backup your Mozilla applications with MozBackup.

To backup your Firefox bookmarks, mail, contacts, history, extensions, passwords and cache you can use MozBackup.
With this little (1 mb) utility you can create backups of Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Mozilla Sunbird, Flock, SeaMonkey, Mozilla Suite, Spicebird, Songbird and Netscape profiles.

Step 1: Download MozBackup from official link: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/download.php

There are two versions: portable and install package.
Let start with the installer. If you download portable version skip Steps 1 and 2 and go directly to Step 3.

Step 2: Run the Installer:

Step 3: Click Next > to continue installation

Step 4:  You must accept the terms of agreement. If you do so the next window will pop-up to choose
where to install the application.

The default destination folder is c:\Program Files (x86)\MozBackup. Click Install.

That’s it. MozBackup is installed.

Step 5: When you run the program the following Welcome screen appears

Click Next.

Step 6: Here you can choose to backup or restore a profile. Now we are making backup so just click Next.

Here we choose which profile to backup and destination folder to store it.
In this example we backup the default profile so click Next.
Choose Yes if you want to password protect your backup.

Here you can choose which components to backup. Click Next.

The speed of backup depends on size of data in the profile.
